The 2011 UIC PGA Overall Golf Contest year will be in THREE (3) sections.

There will be individual winners (and prizes) for each contest section.

There will ALSO be a 2011 UIC Overall PGA Contest Champion.

Players MUST ENTER AT LEAST TWO OF THE THREE CONTEST SECTIONS to be eligible for Overall Winner and any overall prizes. Players are strongly advised to play the 3rd leg however, as 'overall point totals' will be higher than the previous two.

For those players who enter all three contests, your worst sectional total will be tossed out and not counted. Only the player's highest TWO sections will go toward OVERALL TOTAL SCORING. So this way if you absolutely suck once, don't sweat it.

Contest formats may change throughout the season, so players must pay attention before placing entries prior to each golf contest section.

Hey, that's a pretty good deal. The only thing you have to pay is attention. I'll tell ya, Johnny, its a rough crowd, ya know? (That was my Rodney Dangerfield). Anyway...

HOW IT WORKS:

There will/may be separate scoring methods for each contest section. These scores will be added and totaled after the 3rd / final contest section to decide The UIC 2011 Overall PGA Contest Champion.

We already have Contest Section 1, the HONOLULU TO AUGUSTA CONTEST, which begins on Jan 13 and goes until The Masters, April 10th. That contest is now CLOSED.

After Section 1 ends, we take the week of April 11 thru 17 OFF. This period will be used for players to make their Section 2 contest entries.

THEN----

We start Contest Section 2, which begins on April 21 at Harbour Town and goes thru the US Open, ending June 19.

We take the week of June 20 thru 26 OFF. This period will be used for players to make their Section 3 contest entries.

THEN----

We begin the 3rd (and final) Contest Section, which begins on June 30 at the ATT and goes thru The PGA Championship on Aug 14. This section will include The British Open as well.

Since Section 3 is the final leg and involves TWO majors, overall points may be higher than the previous two sections. Plus, this will give players who are farther back a reasonable chance to win it all.

ALSO-----

There will be prizes posted and more info will be forthcoming. Since all entries and scoring totals are posted on threads visible to all, EVERY PLAYER (including me :>) IS ELIGIBLE to WIN PRIZES.

This way players can't really load up on golfers playing in the first Tourney. It's more of a blind shot for everyone.

Please don't get me wrong here Jerry...this is an awesome contest and you're very generous to offer us all a chance to participate...I think I was just thrown off by the response email from "Al in California"...LOL...

...the players should be kept up to date at all times. Plus, any opinions and ideas are always more than welcome. This is a work in progress.

I'm merely informing current players of the new changes that may have an effect on them.

Also, I'm letting people who didn't play in the first contest know that they can still play later on, if they so desire.
