Spent a week in London in January and our hotel was adjacent to the Chelsea FC stadium. Thankfully they had no home matches that week but my wife and I have adopted the Blues as our favorite football club and what a ride they're giving us. They play in the Champions' League final on 5/19 after stunning FC Barcelona (and Lionel Messi) 1-nil in the semis and this past weekend trey won their fourth FC Cup in six years holding off Liverpool 2-1. A mid-season slump cost them position in the Premier League standings but remain in the playoff hunt. Go Blues!
Sorry Bob, Liverpool thrashed them 4-1 tonight in a league game but it didnt really matter as they had little chance of making the top four. So now they will have to beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final on May 19th.. game will be live on Fox ..Go Blues !
Watched every minute, Bev and what an emotional roller coaster it was. Badly outplayed for most of the match, the late goal from Drogba, the penalty kick save in extra time and the excruciating shoot out. I've been a devoted fan for over twelve weeks now and a soccer fan for nearly that long and I have to say all the down times were worth it. Only wish I could be at Stamford Bridge for the parade tomorrow. My beloved Blues play the MLS All-Stars in Philly on July 25. My wife will be so thrilled to find out what we're doing for her birthday.
Hey G-Bob, have you been invited and would you consider playing online in the rugby league Mr. Hendry is currently pulverizing me in? It's lots 'o fun! I'd like to attend a rugby match someday but we a pretty popular sport here in Texas...called FOOTBALL!...lol...
