Very interesting indeed, but your own personal experiences (good or bad) do not negate the vast numbers of comments left by others who's experiences differ from your own.
I for one am glad your Mark I has been very good to you. However, it is also quite possible that the previous owner of your pistol had some modifications made to it to improve it's function & reliability.
My Mark I which is far older than yours, initially had a 6 lbs trigger pull on a completely factory unmodified pistol. Then again, my experiences may also vary but given the volume of similar comments about trigger pull, I believe my experience is probably a lot closer to the norm for a factory set trigger pull.
