When I first bought my Mark I Standard, it had a broken extractor. Not bad, as it was a cheap fix, and I didn't pay too much for the gun. However, the extractor spring plunger I ordered didn't fit. Close inspection revealed that the extractor plunger hole isn't drilled through to the firing pin stop hole as it supposedly is on the Mark II. I was sure this wasn't a factory defect, so I simply ground the plunger down until it fit. It fits in there quite snugly, and the extractor deflects enough to allow the bolt to close properly. I have had about 500 rounds through the gun since then, with no feeding or extraction problems. I guess the big question here is whether or not the extractor will work loose since there is no stop pin to block the plunger. It probably won't, but I think not having extra plunger movement with the stop pin removed will make it a bitch to get the extractor out if I ever have to. Maybe not. Anybody else have this problem?
