Well, I went and bought both the Ruger factory target trigger, and the Millett sight. The trigger did wonders for the feel and pull of my Mark I Standard. Instead of a rough, creepy pull and weird feel, I now have a glassy smooth pull, and the trigger fits my finger like a glove. The workmanship of the Mark II trigger is superior to that of the Mark I trigger. The take-up leaves something to be desired, but it isn't too bad. Maybe I can correct this with a new sear, but for now, I'll concentrate on building up my skill. The target sight was easy to install, but I can't hit much with it until I make a new front sight. Not that I couldn't just go buy one, but the ones avaiable don't appeal to me, and I might as well save a buck (or several) by making my own. If that doesn't work maybe I'll break down and go buy one.
