Red Dot distance problems

I have a Tasco red dot mounted on my 22/45 using a B-Square mount. When I zero it in at 30 feet it is fine . Then when I move out to 50 feet it shoots high. And the opposite happens if I start at 50 feet then move in to 30 feet. Is this normal? Are red dots made to shoot at only one distance and adjustment are needed when moving from 30 to 50 feet?
