Congradulations on getting your new Ruger. I took mine down and inspected and cleaned it as soon as I could, and found that the disassembly/reassembly process wasn't as complex as I've heard. Its supposed to be like a big taboo, but I'll never fire a gun I haven't personally inspected all working parts of and cleaned/oiled.

It takes the removal of the tricky hammer spring assembly out of the picture so all you need is an allen wrench to get the bolt out so you can clean from the breach (which in my opinion is always preferable to muzzle cleaning... I'll go to great inconvenience to not clean from the muzzle).
