www.brookstactical.com is the maker of AGRIP check out the site for info they have precuts for many models especially glocks and the like where folks need something for the slick composite frames. I used the 5x8 sheets and wrapped my .45 cal. 1911 A1 in similar fashion as well.
the texture is like a short napped swede ...what is so effective about the feel is that all contact surfaces,heel,palm,fingers etc seem to rally get a bite and ones grip is dispersed and increased...the stuff is tougher than it may look.. comes in black,gray,blue, purple, orange and camo...about 24 bucks
I know it may be hard to get used to the tuxedo look... but every one of my pistols got lighter and shoot better.. I used epoxy putty under it on my 45's grip and put subtle finger grooves where I WANTED them ...there is a pic of it too on his sight.
