I enjoy an outing a minimum of once a week either at our local law enforcement range or in the backyard, when the kids are gone.
I have many a few target backstops of 3/8" steel plate and 4x4 timbers. different materials for different applications of course. I set out (6) different brands of ammo, using 25yd targets and shoot a competetion between brands. scoring from 10 down to 7. usually three rds each brand. from there i then individually score each of them based on 10 shot- 100% accuracy level.(grading as though it's an exam)
If a catridge jams or fails to fire, he gets 1 variance-a second time he is disqualified.
Next competetion, i keep the top 3-4 brands and add new competitors.etc.
keep in mind this is especially fun if you start at the bottom of the barrel as far as ammo pricing goes. moving your way up- i have found good result of cheap ammo going head to head with 5-6$ a box stuff.
It is definitly a good time shooting alone or with others!! try it!!!
