Mark II vs 22/45

by

After my Dad's recent visit (with his pistols), I am now looking at picking up my first one. I am 40...and mainly want it for target shooting at 25' and 50' - we have a fantasic indoor range in my hometown.

My Dad gave me my first crack at shooting the Ruger 22/45 he had and I was able to keep 90% of the shots "in the black" at both 25 and 50 (enough bragging).

So, I take off on the internet and find this site. I am looking at either the Mark II or the 22/45. I have already spoken to several local gun dealers and both pistols recevied high reviews for quality and accuracy.

My question is this - which gun? My reseach indicates that the Mark II has more after market accessories, but I like the look of the 22/45. Since this will be my only gun, I want to make the right choice.

Are there any sugnificant differences that I should be aware of when I make my choice?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Don
