Well one prob with that is Ozzy cant sing in a 440 or even a half step down tunning anymore. We KNOW that can happen to the best of singers. I think a lot of the stuff on the Budakon Live CD was tuned a whole step down. Anywas
I would have loved to hear the Ozzmosis CD with Steve VAI on it. I'm not sure how this new guy will be. The guy he had on tour for the Ozzmosis tour was supposedly a former student of Randy Rhodes, but IMO he wasn't great. Below par if anything. Just my opinion.
He toured with that guy Joe Holmes who he said at the time was the best thing since sliced bread. The plan was to record original music but he dumped Holmes for Zakk when it came time to put out new music.
At first I glance I thought you typed Billy MORRIS lol! He's a sweetheart of a guy, but I couldn't even begin to imagine him replacing Zakk or ever being with Ozzy!
I've heard some pretty depressing stuff regarding Jake in recent years. I really don't want to believe any of it and figure if I just say it isn't true, that it won't be. He was so sweet and unpretentious and not at all the nightmare ******* I'd "heard" he was. I liked him so much and hell, I don't anybody right away lol! I really hoped things would somehow work out for him. It's never too late though, right?
I might have been one of the only people who bought "Retraced". I never did get "Runnin with the Devil", nor have I even heard any feedback on it.
I havent heard anywhere Zakk was officially fired but Ozzy said in an interview he was lookin for a guitar player to write with. It was funny cause Ozzy went on to say most players nowdays just make noise or they are crazy. Then he was asked about Zakk and said Zakk is great but hes friggin nuts! lol Ozzy did this before with his Back On Earth thingamabob and Zakk still did the tour.
As for Jake, I can confirm he is not living with his mom as she passed away quite a few years ago. I cant confirm if hes still in Vegas or exactly what hes been up to lately but he did play on a Enuff Z Nuff album recently, that prolly isnt worth mentioning lol but I have seen where hes gotten his name back out there a lil bit in the past couple of years. I personally cant see Jake getting back with Ozzy. Be cool to see if he did tho.
I agree Guv. I can't imagine Jake back in Ozzy either. Jake's style is way more funk/R&B. Even though he fit well back when he was in the band, it wouldn't sound right now. I don't know that there will ever be a real place for Jake as a stand-out in the rock genre anymore. Sad, but true. He might be better off to try and catch a gig in the touring band for a pop or R&B superstar. There are so many of those genres that want to be "edgy". Some of the mix-n-matches are kind of weird. Like Justin Timberlake & Timbland (Timberland? Timbeland? whatever it is) contributed to the new Chris Cornell album which is a lot different than I expected it to be. I can see if a lot of his fanbase hates it....very techno-lite. I love techo though and Chris Cornell can do no wrong in my eyes, so for me it's one of the best buys I've made in a while.
i just got a Guitar World Magazine, with Chickenfoot in the cover, and there is
an interview with Zakk... he talks about new Ozzy album... he is recording it...
thus, unless something happened during recordings, this new guy shall be on board
only for the tour...
i didn't know a rooster crows at night! I guess it's bedtime in these parts...i did hear the rooster a couple of times yesterday too....well..one more night and i'm off to parts unknown....lol.....sometimes it's good to get out of the city and take in the serenity of the country....snow capped mountains....wild horses....beautiful rivers and nothing else around for miles and miles and miles ...
Maybe Jake E is doing the same thing...
