I am hoping my CDs are in the mailbox waiting for me when I get home. it will be nice to have those considering my roomate texted me that the sherrif is coming back at 6pm to hand deliver something to me. Nope it's not divorce papers because I haven't ever been married.

I got mine yeterday. I have listened to it about 3 times. I always have a hard time putting into words exactly what I am thinking, but to say the least, I am really enjoying it and think all the guys did a wonderful job on it. I wish my writing was much more descriptive.
There are a few I can't wait to hear live.
Enjoy everyone!

thanks for responding chessie and alex...i was just puzzled by the sweet gesture. how could i forget it's almost halloween? chess, say hello to salem if you party there this year:-))
trying so hard to listen more than the couple times i've had the chance, but i'm actually 'on the move'
after 7 years in florida, i'm finally getting my own place. virtually out of blank cd's, and i dare not risk the new original (so no 'mobile' copy for now)....but from what i've listened to, it's outstanding. true winger style...riffs..melodies; no disappointment on my end. honestly have leaned toward kip's solo material for years, but EVERYONE should get reb's fusion demos and john roth's solo cd. any chance those guys will make something else for us true fans?

does anyone know why they don't plan a U.S. tour? that breaks my heart! i thought WE were their most dedicated fans....the ones that drive thousands of miles to see them...spend thousands of dollars for tix, travel and lodging? my lesson for 2009? i'm never too old to be wrong.

Reb has said many times that there isn't enough support from promoters to do a US tour and that whenever they do US dates the attendances are tiny. Don't want to turn this into a US versus the rest of the world argument, but as far as Winger is concerned, if it weren't for Europe in particular, there is a strong chance there wouldn't be new Winger albums. Thanks to Frontiers Records, an Italian company, we get new Winger CD's and DVD's, The Mob, Reb's solo release, etc, and also a level of promotion and advertising. Thanks to European fans who do turn out in numbers to support the band, it is feasible for them to do European dates. There is a diehard group of extremely dedicated Winger fans in the US but I'm afraid their numbers just aren't big enough. I hear plenty of good comments about the band and their new album on various US music forums but you can bet your ass that 99% of these people have downloaded the album, and IV before it, as a torrent and don't turn out to see them live.

Throughout the 90's when Winger pretty much ignored Europe, especially the UK, we travelled thousands of miles to see them in the only places we could, usually in the States.

Don't want to upset anyone - just stating the facts.

Matt,

I definitely agree with the piracy thing. People are getting this music for free.

What boggles my mind is that I truly believe downloading music is stealing. It's sad that people don't feel the same way. It's no different than shoplifting.

Gods yes I remember the listening parties. I think I started a few of them over at Kip's old forum (RIP). wink.gif

For those of you wondering what the heck a 'listening party' is, it's a chat room night where everyone gets together and starts playing the appropriate CD at the same time and we all make comments about the song. We had a blast with them. happy.gif

The CD is still running through my head even tho I've not listened to the CD itself in a few hours. wink.gif Guess it's sticking. wink.gif

Matt and Alex, I so agree...I don't do any of that....it is stealing and on the rare occasion they do catch people and it goes baddddddddddd.....I don't know 'bout anybody else but I'd rather pay the $9-$15 bucks for a cd than to have to come up with $2 million in damages!

Finally!

October 22 2009, 8:27 PM

Ok. I received KARMA today, and I am very impressed with my first plays of the CD. I didn't think I would really like a CD, and ALL of the songs right off the bat. The first 5 songs will rip your eyes out. I've been reading and listening to interviews, and Kip and Reb said it is a straight ahead rockin' CD. It's the truth. It is a total jamfest. These will be great songs to "air guitar" to. All of these definitely rip hard. I am pumped about these tunes. I am glad I will have some time to really listen to these tomorrow. I have a long ride, and will get my fix for sure. These hit hard. WOW!
My 2 cents.

K
