BWBB stands for, not that I'm particularly proud of it, boys with big bellies. It has become the name of the annual get-together of Dotts, cousins and friends down at Chris' house for an extended weekend every winter/spring. Next Thursday I'm going down, and Jim is showing up Friday night. All the Dott brothers will be there, and cousins Mike and Austin.

And, might I add, it's the highlight of my year, having all my favorite people here at Chez CD for a weekend of grilled meats, cold beverages and stimulating conversation. Peter christened this special weekend the Boys with Big Bellies, I assume because of the gluttonous frenzy of eating and drinking that goes on for the whole time. And last year, rookie James Havard introduced disc golf which was a huge hit.
Let the games begin!

Thanks for the explanation. Have fun!
BWBB revisited
June 2 2004, 12:26 PM
I realized today that this chain of messages has sat unchanged with no additions for over a year. A long time. The 2004 BWBB will be held over an extended July 4th weekend in a new location. Still in Raleigh, NC, the festival will be held at the new Dott residence. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend this year, hope to make a reappearance next season. I'll miss you guys!
BWBB 2005!

Hi. Since this thread is still alive after a couple of years, I thought I would post something about this year's event. Just over a week away, BWBB 2005 will be held March 31st thru April 3rd in Raleigh, with a bonus night on Wednesday, March 30th for those interested. I'm very much looking forward to it, as I was unable to attend last year.
Annual BWBB Posting

Since people only post to this site once a year, I figured what the heck. I have a big belly, I'm a boy. I can do this.
Sorry I will not be in attendance this year as Lisa is due with our first child. I have thought and rethought the words of CD (the Original): "Your families will always be there. Donuts expire within days."
Unfortunatley, I still must pass.
Someone e-mail me a Krispy Kreme that's been refried in the vat of bubbling erl.

BWBBs

Alas, this year we'll be missing two gutmen, TH and TK ("The Three T's"). We all understand and will try to power through it and have a good time in your honor(s). Actually, I still don't get the whole family/new child thing but I'll try to deal.
Not to make you feel bad, but this year you'll be missing a Durham Bulls game as well as CD's new home disc golf practice course. The other traditional activities - darts, grilling, bocce, horseshoes, beverages, oyster bar, hot tub, Krispy Kremes, music, hitting the disc golf course, male bonding... - won't be any fun anyway.
Rest assured that once you attend one BWBBs weekend you have a lifelong invite. Miss two years in a row, however, and you'll be faced with a stiff penalty on your next visit*. That will give you both something to think about.
- CD -
* The Penalty consists of your choice of the following:
1. Sleeping in the same room as Pauly D (the snoremeister general)
2. Permanent bocce scorekeeper. For one game.
3. Being forced to eat your first cheeseburger with no chili
