"THE" last card

In this era of instant gratification where collectors can
buy sets and near sets, I'd like to start something
a bit different.
===================================================
Hopefully this post will be kept active with monthly
comments about how you feel as you get that last card of
any NS set.
=============================================
I also suggest that when posting to BST, and your are
looking for ONE LAST CARD....you include LAST CARD
in the title. I am hoping that collectors will then
help others. I personally think it's the most rewarding
thing I can do---getting the LAST card to others.
---
If I have it as a dupe, it'll be your free.
If I have it in a "near set", I would consider selling it.

I am trying to recall the first time anyone got me
my last card. I do know it was Mary Ballisteri.
I think it was Horrors of War.

I can recall the feeling, however. It was surreal.
Getting a free last card (or was it 2-3 ?) for what
I thought would be an impossible task was huge.
The feeling lasted for years !!!! He did tell me
to do the same for others over the years.

I may be able to help Tom, Bill and Keith. I've had a day or so of
being non active in the dungeon.....yes, some days it's simply impossible
for me to address anything in my wonderful hobby.

Even ebay hasn't given me a thrill lately...wonder what's up.

But I promise I will somehow get motivated soon and hopefully fulfill that
great feeling of finishing another set. I do think this thread could blossom
into something far better than I ever imagined.

Thanks for looking!

Let's revive this older thread . . .

Any of you who have been stuck trying to find that one last card, to finish a set off, this is the place to list it!
(Would also ask folks on earlier messages to update/edit their logs, so we know what they still need.)

Here's mine -- none of these SHOULD BE particularly tough, either, making the frustration even more intense:

=================================================

Mr Baloney's Comics / Baloney Ads: #37

Dietz President Playbucks: $5 WH Harrison

Shelby Humpty Dumpty Up-To-Date: #17 Peter White

League of Nations: #13 Chile, #37 Peru

'the' last card

No score for this post
July 6 2009, 12:48 AM

Tony, card 19 isn't a hard card to find. At the time this was written, I had been outbid on #19 five or six times and I was frustrated seeing the empty slot on the upper left hand corner of the third page of my Mars Attacks set.
Now for the rest of the story, this card is located in the fourth column of an uncut sheet of Mars Attacks. It is located seven cards down from the top and five up from the bottom so its placement should yield plenty of excellent quality examples of the card. A recent PSA pop report was sent to me on Mars Attacks and card 19 was in a tie for tenth place for the most submitted card only ten submissions away from second place on the list.
By the way, Dan did send me card 19 to complete the set and I know I upset him when I sent him back two Mars Attacks for his collection. He playfully 'chewed' me out in two emails about sending him the cards!
