card/disc question

Hi-
Please see the scan below of this actress/model/nobody(?) on a blank backed disc, slightly larger than a quarter. Does anyone know what set (if any) it is a part of? If this is a particular set, please feel free to show your examples, as well as any details (year of issue, manufacturer, etc.). Thank you very much for all of your help in the past and thank you in advance for your help with this question.

Alan, Your card is a Kinney issue: N228 type 2; but not originally blank backed. Backs came in 3 colors - yours may be a faded white as is common with this issue:

They date from the 1880s and are indeed called Novelties; probably all actresses.

Very cool! Thank you, every one, for the information! I have great difficulty identifying nonsports cards even when the manufacturer name is present (see pin post), let alone when it has faded away. I really appreciate the knowledge and seeing the unfaded examples!
