Net 54 Members,

Beckett Media is reaching out to your community to offer a complimentary issue of our Graded Card Investor magazine with a Net 54 “Member Only” subscription offer to the first 500 people that respond to the link at the bottom of this letter.

Thanks to Tom for allowing us the opportunity to showcase what we feel is a magazine that can provide great entertainment and information to all card collectors.

Beckett GCI is a bi-monthly, multi-sport magazine that covers the market for professionally graded baseball, basketball, football, golf, hockey and racing cards from 1887 to present.

With more than 130 pages of pricing, Beckett Graded Card Investor offers the most comprehensive package of market information available in print. Up to six columns of pricing (in the conditions applicable to the material) is provided for each listing. All major sources for transactions, including eBay and the big auction houses, are closely monitored and reported in detail.

Rather than attempt to provide theoretical values for particularly scarce material, GCI utilizes a unique combination of column-based grid pricing (for more widely available material) with historical sales references (for rarities). Each issue, the grid pricing is reviewed and updated and the historical sales references are appended to provide the reader with the finest source of information available in print.

GCI also digs deep into the world of commons and minor stars to report the cards with low populations within the major grading company census reports with values that defy their potentially overlooked status.

Now approaching its sixth issue, scheduled to release the first week of June, the staff at GCI is hard at work adding a six-page section for the burgeoning area of vintage Non-Sport cards. In particular, we’ll be focusing on the sets from 1933 to 1985 that are most commonly submitted for professional grading including 1933 Indian Gum, 1938 Horrors of War, 1952 Look ‘n See, 1959 Three Stooges, 1962 Civil War News and 1962 Mars Attacks.

Issue No. 6 will also include a cover feature on the early cards of Mickey Mantle. Population data, in-depth pricing, distribution information and full color images will be provided for 22 of The Mick’s mainstream and regional issues released between 1951 and 1956.

The editorial package for past issues of GCI has included interview with industry heavyweights like Robert Lifson of Robert Edward Auctions and Doug Allen of Mastro Auctions in addition to big names in the grading field including Joe Orlando of PSA and Sean Skeffington of SGC. Contributing authors have included Lyman Hardeman of Old Cardboard penning articles on the E107 set and the M101-4 and M101-5 Babe Ruth Rookie Cards. Our own staff, each issue, provides a review of the top selling cards of the past two months for baseball, basketball, football and hockey in addition to in-depth articles crunching the numbers on popular sets like ’54-55 Topps hockey and 1971 Topps baseball. Even newer cards are covered with in-depth pricing information on BGS Pristine cards and the slew of red-hot up-and-comers across all of the major sports.

It’s our goal to continue growing by reaching out to all of the collecting communities that compose our beloved hobby. We hope you enjoy the complimentary issue of Beckett Graded Card Investor and we look forward to your feedback.

The Net 54 boards are a treasure trove of riches when it comes to the knowledge and expertise available from the community. Many of you set the benchmark for what there is to know about the sets and cards you collect. GCI and its staff can benefit greatly from your feedback and suggestions. I’ll be available on these boards to review any questions or comments and take in suggestions for stories and/or pricing input.

Thanks,

Grant Sandground

Please let me know, via email, or posting to this thread if you have any questions.

Please take advantage of this free offer.......we all want more accurate up-to-the-minute pricing on non-sports and this is Beckett's attempt. They will be following up with us at some point for comments about the guide. They've long been the leader in the pricing world for sports, so let's see how the non-sports side develops..........

Tom,

Thanks for the kind words, and support. We are hoping that your this audience will see the new pricing structure, and then either post to this board, or email us directly with comments and suggestions.

I promise that there are no strings attached to this, and we won't be releasing anyones private information.

Also, I wanted to note that we will have a large presence at this years National Sports Convention. Typically there have always been a few non-sports dealers set up there and I hope to meet all who attend.

Thanks again, and good luck with everything.
