comparision to the above sets...wow...

Mastro has sets of the Hassan and Canadian cards. The fronts look the same, but the backs are definitely different.

Hey Dan,
The Weber baking set has some interesting differences from the Hassan set. The most prominent being the inclusion of the "An Exciting Game" card that is not in the Hassan series.



The second difference is that all the images are mirror images of the Hassan series (card on left is Weber - right is Hassan).



The Weber cards are also printed on thin paper stock (like many of the bread cards).

Also, by reading the text on the back it is implied that the set length is only 40 however it is believed that all 50 were made (I can't confirm this as I do not have the full set).



Anybody out there have an example of the mail away premium "Riders of the Lazy 7"?

You are overlooking the basic rule of non-sport premiums. If the back says "send all 40 in", that means there are only 39.

Information is the reason this Chat Board is so unique.

Yes, very cool sets, certainly a few difference, he is a good shot of the Canadian version but there is 50 in this set.

My favorite example in this case is "His Favorite Brand." In the Hassan case, the cowboy is holding up a pack of Hassans.

After talking about tobacco use in general and the trick of rolling a cigarette with one hand, the back of the card notes, "... Since the 'Hassan' brand has been put on the market, the cowboys, like smokers everywhere, have recognized the find quality of this low priced brand. They no longer have the trouble of making their own cigarettes, when such good ones can be bought cheaply."



In contrast, the Pullman Onist card has a blanked out name and no descriptive text. Also, they have no "His favorite Brand" title on the card.

Ganong "Rodeo" Bars, took it one step farther. Keeping it "His Favorite Brand," and with no descriptive back text, but making the object a package of Ganongs.

The Cowboy series takes the cake however. They call it "His Favorite Brand," they blank out the box,
