Interesting....it appears one of our board members had trouble with him a few weeks ago on this high number Sea Raiders card, having to go through a dispute to have him ship the card:
Did our board member ever receive his card and if so did the seller just happen to have an identical twin to it? LOL Actually the two scans don't look identical but it does make you wonder

As soon as I had listed some cards he e-mailed me to end the auction early,he actually made a half decent offer as well. I declined, and as it happened my auction finished $50 less than he offered. That is the way the cookie crumbles.

Q: HI, EXCUSE MY IGNORENCE ON THIS SET BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU DO NOT MIND LETTING ME KNOW, IF THE SET IS 168 HOW COME MANY OF THE CARDS ARE NUMBERED HIGHER, DAVE.
A: Hey dave. not a problem. This is one of the most unique sets in that this is a skipped numbered set. Meaning there were certain numbers not issued until later. For example #57 is considered one of the rarest cards not only in the set but in non sports period. #57 was issued a year later after realizing they didnt issue a #57. So although there are 168 cards in the set they are not numbered 1-168. hope that helped. If you have any interest or any questions, feel free to get in touch with me, thanks
Mark----don't waste your Strongman on the 57. I have something much rarer to trade. Indian Gum issued a series of 48 which actually contains 96 skip numbers---when Goudey realized their mistake they corrected it by issuing a series of 96 which only contained 72 cards. Needless to say, these are all extrememly rare, much rarer than your Strongman. I can also throw in a couple of these that have had the tops cut off---(people that don't know better call this trimming, but actually they are part of a special factory cancelled promotional campaign)----please send me your Strongman immediately before I come to my senses & rescind this generous offer---

Mark: Please ignore Don's ridiculous offer. I will do you a favor and take the Strongman card off your hands in exchange for two (yes, two!) of my Three Stooges cards.

Chuck---who needs the middleman? For every unmarked Stooge checklist (9's only please) you send me, I will send you 3 (yes THREE) specially cancelled factory promotional campaign 30's cards. Hurry--limited time offer only!

Mark, you can safely ignore Don's and Chuck's feeble offers.
HERE is the biggie.
For your Strongman card, not a card or cards in return. Instead, I will personally fly to Baltimore, dress up like Curly myself and run in circles on your floor, going 'whub-whub-whooooo!' Repeat performances, for benefit of your friends, also thrown in!

I hope there are no more of these 'skipped numbered' cards in other sets that were not issued until the company realized the 'mistake' and issued them a year later. I don't have enough super rare cards to trade.
Why didn't my NSB explain this? Does this Mark Shwartz have a book forthcoming? Forgive me, but I am a little upset that this issue of 'rarest' cards wasn't properly explained in terms which I could have understood a long time ago.
edited to add.
I can trade 3 Indian Gum Series of 288s for one of these 'rarest' wonders of the non-sport world. Wait-never mind, my daughter says this is just a joke and Mark Shwartz(e)is a rather dubious expert at best.
