After living in the NON SPORT world for some years, we all have at least one of those incredible "find" stories or the one that got away story involving cards.
Dan had a similiar thread that never really got off the ground months back...a lot of old memories...some of the best reading on this board.
Would love to hear/read more (swap meets, ads, estate sales, grandpas card box etc)

Charley: Can you find the old thread and provide a link? Since we are aging, we are all likely to post the same stories we did before if we're not careful!

You all should be making notes today - as memories are fleeting

Try as I will, I cannot remember the detail of the below, but I've done my best to
accurately describe each occurance
======================================================.
Losing endeavors.....1990s..2000s
1. Losing the Wild West #25 for 1000.00 (sellers price) because of a BB dealer reneging
on his/that offer within 24 hrs.
2. Losing the Wild West #25 from a California Ebay seller with either 0-1-2 feedbacks
because it was "just too good to be true". The seller claimed he couldn't scan the card
and send a good image. Others let it go, too, , and the auction ended with the reserve
NOT being met. A Mass collector did buy it after the auction ended and told
me that he was happy with the card.

That is exactly the type of thing I was referring to. Any stories (loss or gain) (trade or swap) (yesterday or 35 years ago)
...A vending box under the dock and none for his wingman...
Cool stuff
I will be trying to find the thread I spoke of earlier...it is buried somewhere around page 40!!! I dunno, just checking inhere , first time in week...will look for it over the weekend hopefully.
