Today my entire world was shattered. My wife of 28 years has been diagnosed with acute lymphocitic leukemia.

Right now I'm suspending all activity in this wonderfull hobby. I have much more important matters to tend to.

Just wanted to inform everyone about why I won't be able to particpate on this Forum for the forseeable future.

You take good care of her, Jerry.   Will be remembering both of you in my prayers.

We'll still be here later, after she's beaten this thing and you're ready to come back . . .

Thank You so much for your kind words & prayers.

I'm online right now researching this disease & trying to come up with intelligent questions to ask my wife's doctors.

She is at Westchester Medical Center (A 100 mile drive from my house) & will be hospitalized for at least a month.

I'm going back there tomorrow with too many & not enough questions for her doctors.

Jerry, my best wishes to your wife for her battle with the disease and to you for comfort as you help as you can.

For the other members, you can give a punch to solar plexus of this disease by a contribution to the American Cancer Society.

Jerry - the importance of family can never be underscored enough. Our small group has occasionally had small battles, but family issues dwarf those in comparison. I'm sure that we, as a community wishes your family the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

So Far So Good

First of all, My deepest gratitude to everyone who responded to this thread.

My wife is responding well to treatment. I told her about the sentiments expressed here and she asked me to express her Thank You's to everyone.

Liz is the finest Human Being I have ever had the privilage of knowing. Despite her health problems, she was more concerned about me & our children than herself. She insisted that I continue to collect cards & participate in these forums. I'm supposed to bring any new additions that I acquire, to the hospital, so she can see them.

I'll do it but the joy that there was before, in new acqusitions, is highly muted.

Anyway Thanks once more for all the best wishes.
