another "short" survey - Mickey Mouse - R89

The reasons why we haven't undertaken the challenge of
Mickey Mouse R89 are because 216 images are required for
a master set..

R89 numbering is: 1-96 with 24 front variations (1-24).
=======================================================

I ASK YOU TO VOICE YOUR OPINION/VOTE

=======================================================.

1....Would you, as members (and lurkers) like to see a webpage
.....of original card images (less than mint) for 1-96 and
.....original card images for the variations of numbers 1-24.

or

2....Would you, as members (and lurkers) like to see a webpage
.... of 96 reprints, MINT IMAGES,
.....and use original front card images for the 1-24 variations.

The value of showing the reprints would be that the webpage
would show consistancy in the fronts and backs of 1-96.

If reprints were used for the first 192 images (96 fronts/96 backs)
the 1-24 variations (NOT IN THE REPRINT SET) could come from our membership.

I realize I could be wrong on what I have deemed a MASTER SET above,
but I haven't viewed my Mickey Mouse R89s in quite a while.
========================================================

Yes, I do realize there is a Canadian and Australian MM set.

If you know of others, please post here.

My "vote" would be to try & use the original (not reprint) card images whenever possible.

I have some in varying degrees of condition.

I think I own two or three of the Movie Stars...all in lower condition

I only have a handful which I sent off to get graded. Does anyone out there have either the Groucho Marx (#99) or the Charlie Chaplin (#106) from the R90 Series that they might want to sell? (Hey it's worth a shot!....)

Dan, I vote "originals only", and less than mint is fine.

== > But would also urge that our Gallery also include a side-by-side handy guide, as provided in the past on this Forum, on the telltale differences between valuable, vintage MM cards and the more recent (but unmarked) cheap Applewood Book reprint cards.  Would be a service to the hobby to make that info easily and permanently available.

== >  And yes, would agree with your definition of the R89 MM 'master set':  96 'Type 2' cards plus #1-24 in the 'Type 1' (answers on back) version.    Actually, I am curious as to how many Type 1 subsets are being held by our Forum members?  (I'll open the voting with my own 'yes' answer to that question . . .)

I vote for originals only with one scan (below)of original/reprint just for comparison. Notice the huge size difference (reprint on bottom).
