About 10 years ago I had purchased a large sepia photo card by Minors Extra Long Cut. The card is about 2 1/16 by 4 1/2 inches. I looked in Forbes and Mitchell to see if it was listed. What I found was a series of actress's listed as N663...no picture and company unknown. However the card pictures a man and women dressed in leotards and captioned as Gymnasts. Obviously atheletes. the question is can this possibly be the very first Gymnastics card ever produced? and what would be the value. On the same page of the F & M book ( page 281 ) has listed a series know as N662 also listed as only actress's but I know I've seen a John L Sulivan from this set Mackinaw Ducks sell about 3 years ago on ebay for almost $8,000. The card is clearly mid to late 1880's. The back is clean as it was never glued into any scrap album
and the sepia photo and title is crystal clear. The only blemish being the words Long Cut being slightly faded. Can anyone shed some light here . Thanks,
