Admittedly my blood pressure goes up a bit when someone questions the honesty or form of my listings - as I have always tried to be straight-up as a buyer and/or seller. I received the following comment a few minutes ago:

"With all due respect, your auction title is MISLEADING. There are two different sizes of this silk, a large and a small. Your title says this is a large silk, while the small print says 3 1/2 by 5 1/2. The SMALL silk is 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 whereas the LARGE silk is 5 by 8. Thank you for having the actual size listed; as it prevented us from buying, and having to send it back."

My titles say - large silk and X large silk and the description includes all the nessesary information. The implication "while the small print says 3 1/2 by 5 1/2" that I am trying to somehow MISLEAD someone REALLY pizzes me off as there is no small print..........

The smaller silk is in fact a large silk. Large is a descriptive term. I'm really not sure what the person's point was if not to impune my motivations.....

Have I done something wrong?????

(edited to add my follow-up. While hastily conceived and written I think it's what I mean to say :-O
"I write a title to showcase my item - get the most search results - like a title to a story. At Starbucks or wherever - I don't argue with the person behind the counter that they call a small coffee grande. I know it's the small size - they show me all the sizes and I know how much that is in ounces. I clearly state in my description the sizes. I'm sorry you feel I was being misleading (YOU put it in CAPS) but IMHOP I don't think so no matter how I look at it. Most silks are small in size - most elephants are large. I just posed the question to the public at large on the net54 NS board. I live somewhat in a vacuum - am centrist and accommodating in nature - willing to listen to the perspective of others. I get few responses to my postings anyway but will wait and see if anyone else has a thought. I apologize only for the manner of my response (I'm quite sensitive these days relative to eBay) but not the content. I may have been different at times as a young man - but in my older years - I try and do the right thing in all aspects of my life. Just think you jumped the gun a bit in terms of the level of your reaction to what I feel is kinda a non-issue.")

what was just a mutual misunderstanding HOWEVER maybe we could explore the frustration of buyers and sellers or other topical issues as they relate to transacting business on eBay? Ethics? Anything? My biggest pieves as a buyer include lack of responses to email questions by sellers - small and out of focus pictures - weak descriptions. As a seller I think I'm only mad at eBay and playpal

Henry:

Nothing wrong with your listings!

The technically correct terms for these two series are definitely extra large (S21) and large (S22).

The term "small" refers to the S9 Butterflies and other similar smaller silks.

I have difficulty telling from the titles in many S21/S22 listings which series the listing is in. I know it's hard to get very much description in the title and many folks don't use the ACC numbers. As long as the listing has measurements or a good picture that shows the factory/brand name I can figure it out. Can't hope for total clarity every time.

that with the supersizification (not sure that's a word) of the world....thanks, largely in part to McDonald's, that your description would be fine. And with the dimensions clearly in the auction verbiage, I don't really know why they took the time to email you other than to nitpick your description. Que sera sera..........
