Hello to All ,

I've recently noticed that some members are having difficulty with their images on e-Bay , the super-sizing , clarity and mostly the fees they charge for showing your wares .

I don't sell many cards on the Bay but when i do i use Photobucket to overcome these difficulties .
It's free of charge but takes a little longer to upload your pictures into your 'Bucket account and then into your listing but it offers certain benefits .
It might take a little longer but it's free .

In an e-Bay listing your allowed to use PB links to show what your selling , so NO FEES for as many pictures as you want . I usually put the front & back of the cards i sell .

There's a direct link HTML tag that makes your image appear on screen , if this doesn't work a ' link ' appears as HTML that takes the viewer directly to your picture .

The image in your PB account can be as small or as large as you want .

I hope the example below shows what i'm rambling on about .

I tried the Photobucket way, but never could get it to work. Had Vendio for awile, but paid $5 per month for it. Now I use Auctiva. There's is free and easiest to use of all the services. I actually build my listing on their site in about 2 minutes, only 1/2 a minute if I am using a template. The unlimited pictures are supersized as well.

Hello to Al ,

Hi Eric , thanks for the tips .

I've often found that sellers who use Vendio or Auctiva miss out on their e-Bay home page , as when I click on ' item for sale ' it states , this seller has no items for sale ' search results 0 '
When i know they have as they're in my watched list .

As a buyer i find this slightly frustrating as i have to go to the main catagories to trawl through endless cards i have no interest in .

It shows that there are slight pit falls in all systems that are used on the Bay .

All the Best .

What if I want to host my own images? (I pay a monthly service for that anyway, so I might has well use it). How does one show those images on eBay without having to just point to a link? (I'd like to show both sides of the cards as well.)

Hey Mark, when you talk about an Auctiva user's "home page" do you mean the store icon, or the "me" icon? If I click on either of mine I get my images just fine. So I'm a bit confused by that comment.

And fwiw, I really like using Auctiva for images and listings. I think the up-close look you can get of items with Auctiva is excellent (presuming the seller knows how to scan and upload properly.) I also like being able to put multiple images in my listing easily.

Hello to All ,

Hi Laura ,

It might be because i'm based in the UK and using e-bay(uk) ...??

I received a similar question to yours (via an e-mail) from another Net54 member back in October and sent him examples of what i meant .

All the best .

Hello to All ,

Hi Kurt , I'm not very good on tech jargon and i'm uncertain what ' hosting ' pictures means ...

but when i sold on e-bay (many moons ago) there were 2 ways to sell , a standard listing and a html listing ,

[linked image]

If you use the html you can upload pictures from your photobucket account or tiny pics and paste the html code ,

[linked image]

this code is then transfered into the actual picture on the e-bay listing ,

[linked image]

You can use as many lines of html code as you want and it doesn't cost a penny , just a bit of time .
