Never thought about displaying album pages like that.

You opened my eyes, Henry. I'd love to display the A&G Indians and
Duke Histories of Generals next to each other...just as you have done.

What a great eye-opener. Thank you.

General problem with albums is they can't be enjoyed without fear of damage. If I can ever get some time and figure out the download on my new camera (still in box 8 months) I'll take a shot of the Kimball Indian and Ginter Indian pieces for you Dan. I have a generals album but as it's constructed differently - I've decided not to frame it. Who knows. Things change happy.gif These are rather large pieces. Only so much room until I buy a house.....

Couple of Kinney Novelty Oval Eggs..........

No score for this post
November 6 2008, 11:26 AM

I think Alan Miley or Chuck Millburn one or the other posted a FANTASTIC primer to the Kinney Novelty cards and stated that there were only (5) of the Oval Eggs seen and pictured (4) of them. I recently picked up (2) of them that are different than the (4) pictured, so there are now at least (6) and maybe (7) of them if the unpictured one is different than the ones I now show below. The two 'new' ones are the two at the bottom of the photo next to the back sample.

Looking for a term

No score for this post
November 10 2008, 1:33 AM

I believe there is a word or phrase that describes pictures that turn colored when water is applied (as in the bread cards Todd posted). I have been trying to remember it off and on for a couple of months.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Alan,
I'm not sure of the term but the backs all refer to the process as magic or invisible color pictures.

I have posted a few more examples in their own thread so as not to clutter up the pickup thread.

OK, been to the flea market again. Found this in the bottom of a suitcase full of paper but just had to share it. This is the mail-away factory set for the E171 - Hall Of Fame For Great Americans series by Henry Heide. This came as an entire sheet that was folded into fourths (very thin paper) ....

Why pull out Betsy Drake and put her on the top of the stack?

Where do you find this stuff? People coming to you, or are you simply that good at treasure hunting?

Daniel,
Normally the photos are B&W. The blue ones are harder to find that was why I put that one on top.

I scour baseball card shows/ebay/flea markets/paper shows/and the Wrapper. Since I like everything - I always find something.

A type card! Richard, that is one of only 11 I need for my set. Any way you would trade that for any of the others I have plus some cash or something?
