Greetings. Using some post-Turkey Day free time to peruse the site. This set actually does exist in the NSB (pg 800), although it can be tough to find due to the lack of identifying characteristics on the cards (I've inserted a few references to make it easier to find the title which appeared on the original packaging...Terry Duvall sold a set of these awhile back). The listing below represents the most up-to-date version which will be used in future editions.
TRADING CARDS - NAVY SHIPS -
AIRPLANES
50s - (A. J. Wildman & Son), 57 x 86 mm
U.S.A., 36 numbered cards
These cards were issued on nine non-perforated 4-card panels, but are most commonly found in their divided form of single cards which appear to have been machine-cut and often contain a thin border of an adjacent card (suggesting that cards may have been originally issued in both forms). The manufacturer, A.J. Wildman & Son of New York, can only be identified from a paper insert which was apparently included with the card panels in a cellophane pack. This paper insert also identifies the set title Trading Cards Navy Ships - Airplanes, although previous guides have listed it simply as Ships & Planes. Each 4-card panel measures 114 x 171 mm.
