I don't know if these qualify as non-sports cards, but I've seen a couple dozen of them over the years and can't find much info on them. Anyone know if they're catalogued anywhere? I'd like to know how many were made and of which characters, and whether there were separate issues with differences between 1969 and 1970 (I'm guessing the outside wrapper portion changed colors and copyright dates, while the interior tattoos were unchanged?). I also wonder if they came in any kind of specialty display box (I've seen a promo display stand/card dated 1970, but not a box).

Benjamin's Guide No. 4 (admittedly old) mentions 17 known (four each of Batman & Superman) and one apiece of 7 others (I know, it doesn't add up to 17 but the checklist does). The visual checklistin the guide also has multiples of some others so who knows the true count.

Wrapper color appears to be either yelllow or white and three wrappers are noted to be needed to complete the "run" of 6 characters appearing thereon. IUt does not state if all poses come with both wrappers. White was valued at double yellow at the time (1992). It's Fleer issue as I am sure you know. I don't see it listed in the NSB but Chris did not include a lot of "recent" tattoos, etc. in the big book.

Chris did not include any information on cards or sets issued after 1985 in almost all cases in the NSB. I don't have a copy of the 'newer' year price guide issued in 2006/2007 and usually advertised in NSU.

If the "Black Panther" is mistakenly included here, my count would be 17. I have one that's not on your list, and I'm missing the one Superman.

That doesn't sound like enough variety for an issue like this, but I've been scouring the internet and eBay for quite a while, and what I've found is basically what the old guide listed - so while I'll keep an eye out, I think I'll consider this mystery solved.

Maybe Black Panther lookalike? I am at work but it seemed to show a skintight black (costume color) body suited figure.

I wonder if there is at least an action shot for each character shown in portrait (and conversely a portrait when there are action poses)?

That Black Panther is actually a different pose of The Flash.

I have a few more of these that are not on the checklist. I'll try to post more info later.
