FeeBay's own Meg Whitman in possible run for california governor. Arrrrrnold...... look out behind you! Wait. There are term limits and he's out in 2010. Will political clout on the left coast move from muscle to auction? Ballot stuffers and shillers not sure what to think as she eventually eyes the presidency of our United States......? Personally I think she was at the helm as ebay began to alter it's focus, lose it's transparency, and suffer decling numbers. Eric B. seems to always have an interesting take on all things eBay - Eric? Where do you think all the problems began? Anyone?

Henry
I think Amazon is ebay's biggest problem. Ebay wants to be a store like amazon, and not a flea market anymore. I wouldn't bid 2 cents for Whitman as a buy-it-now governor.

presided over ebay for some very good years and made some very good decisions but I do think that she began their current precipitous fall. Their current CEO has only made it worse. I agree completely that the whole BIN, static item scenario is not appealing. The yard sale format is what made them their bread and butter. Shame they don't see that anymore.

I think Meg's a little more right-leaning that the governator is ultimately. That played well for Reagan, but not sure Meg's a Ronald...........

I may be mistaken and I can't believe I don't know this or think of it since I follow politics heavily, but wasn't Whitman a economic advisor to one of the presidential candidates? I know HP's ceo was a McCain advisor.

Didn't she run HP into the ground? Or worse then when she became CEO?

Maybe she can do for politics in California what Bloggo did for Illinois: Sell it all to the highest bidder. (She can even set her own price using the B.I.N.)
