Tough sets relative to their contemporaries.

I've found these sets to be tough to find compared to others of their ilk:

Red Menace grey backs compared to the cream backs.

Davy Crockett Green backs compared to Davy Crockett Orange backs.

Planes Red backs compared to the Blue backs.

Target Moon compared to Space.

The Beatles B & W first series compared to the second and third series.

Batman Blue Bats compared to the Black Bats and the Red Bats.

Monkees Sepia compared to Monkees A, B and C.

Comments? Suggestions?

Agree in general with most of your observations except Blue Planes are easier to find then the Red Planes. I'm not sure of the story why Topps issued the same set with different colors at the same time and some have suggested they were using the newly purchased Bowman printing presses to comingle with their operations but I don't know. Also, I have found more Monkees sepia cards then the others that are available.

You're correct. I mixed up the Red Planes with the Blue Planes. The Blue backed Planes are indeed easier to find.
