I just bought this card on Ebay - 1937 Wolverine Gum Ripley's BION No. 24.

It was listed under Boxing Memorabilia, so I think it flew under the radar, so to speak.

OK. It's not a Skybird. But I still like them. I picked up this N611 and N369 becaude of the depth of the image. Probably hidden away for 120+ years.

did a nice job with a lot of their images. Really dark, clear and interestingly posed. They must have had a top notch company producing them for them.

N621. A bit faded, but it's Lillian Russell and a very nice back that may not have ever been shown before.

Wait a minute Todd, are you saying you found those Elvis cards at a flea market? If so, your flea markets are a lot better than the ones I go to!

-actually my last pick-up of 2008, and my first N224 card. I am stopping right there at one, though. There's no way I'm sticking my hand in that hornet's nest of secret cards and moral dilemmas...

[linked image]

Todd's polar bear pickup is a very cool card. Some day there will be more N41 polar bears than actual polar bears...

I won one page from the Duke's Rulers and couldn't stop. Now that I have more than half I will have to keep going. Also picked up the A&G Decorations, complete album. Some day I'll work up enough nerve to ask what they go for.

That N224 Milwaukee Lt Horse is tremendous. Easily the best example I've seen. If it was on Ebay, don't know how I missed it. Plus it's from Series A - tougher than average,

Seller bthoven14 auctioned off what seemed to be hundreds of N224s, individually, toward the end of '08, and I notice that he just put up some more tonight...the state emblems/coats of arms seemed to be popular.
