Forgive the slightly less than pre-70 post but I am hoping some of you can confirm if I now have a full set of the 1971 Topps Winners cards, which look like this:
I just won ten from Kevin Savage (who though it might be a complete set but wasn't sure) and have:
How any sets would that be, if you don't mind me asking. And given that there seems to be multiple sets about, would some of the cards have gone out the Topps back door? I am quite curious how many of these are out there and how they were ultimately distributed.
Also curious about the Topps Teamates/Grow Power issue and hoping you have details on that as well.

Well, you never know what will pop up off the ol' internet. I have heard from not one but 2 Winners in the past week and can confirm that one of them is new (April D. Bole) and I hope to post a scan of her card and her sister's, who is shown in the above checklist(Lisa C. Bole) soon.
The kicker is their Mom entered the Sweepstakes when she lived in California, so the geographic area was wider than just local Pittsburgh. I suspect since they both won, it was not a widely distributed sweepstakes and it would not survive me if very few entry forms were made up.
More details to come.
EDIT-looking at other backs in the set, Cincinnati is another possible area of distro, as is Maryland (there is a Rockwell there). Perhaps the contest was national in scope.

Bill, could you post or email your four front and back images ?
David, I have saved/stored your fronts/backs from the Topps site.
Could you send any back images that are not shown at the Topps site ?
Would you fellows like a web page ?
Do you think the "kids" would like to have any "later life" picture
on a webpage to the right of their card. (assuming you can find
them or their offspring).
Any thoughts from anyone ?
It could go in the "Fun Page Area" (underway) as it isn't vintage..

How much can one expect to pay? Anyone ever locate a sealed pack or box? It is a neat concept and would be a great prize today for young or old card collectors!

Can someone explain this set to a collector whose head is mired in the 30's? Given the picture of the kids and the year, I would have been about the same age but I have no memory of this set or what it is about.

My blog has the whole story. Presently there are 15 known cards out of what looks to be a possible 25. The whole thing was a limited sweepstakes from Topps.
