Dan,
First time I've seen these and I love them! Looks like a few errors - made by the company not by you! Bob Conrad, Pete Lawford and not sure, but the James Stewart back looks like he has a Farley Granger front. I like the Bobby Darin and Elvis cards. Also, how come the Chuck Connors card has his Rifleman name instead of his real name?

I believe Hamilton Candy was from Chicago or Tacoma and not Canada. I forget where I saw that, but I don't believe they are connected to Canadian Hamilton Gum.

John, Stewart or Farley, a Granger is a Granger is a Granger.
Jim, If this is an American company out of Chicago or where ever, the V429 should be changed into an 'R' series.

"John D. Hamilton was J.C. Haley's, of Brown & Haley, brother-in-law. He learned candy making as a superintendent in the Brown and Haley plant. In 1923, he left to form his own candy company, Hamilton Candy. The company was in business until 1970."
From Tacoma Library Archive
I cannot find much about Hamilton Gum though.

Haven't posted in awhile...but have seen enough of these being sold out of Asia (primarily Vietnam, if I remember correctly) on eBay to believe that they might have been printed on that continent (especially given the high number of spelling errors); however, I've also purchased lots from this set via eBay that shipped from Canada, but never from the U.S. (hence my assignment of the "V" number)...I gave them a separate listing (i.e. unique from the Hamilton Chewing Gum, Ltd.) in the manufacturer index in the NSB because I didn't think it likely that they were one in the same...in fact studying the cards more closely, I believe the company should probably be listed as "Hamilton Company"...with "Candy Department" coming afterward...again, such an unusual labelling that it suggests "Non-English" speaking manufacturer.
Maybe they were produced for the Canadian market, much like "Maple Leaf Gum" products which were produced in Holland, but seem to havbe been primarily marketed in Canada.
I also have some of these "Red-backed" Series cards that state "Snow White Movie Stars Bubble Gum Cards" (as illustrated in the NSB)...I always thought that the "Snow White" might have gotten them in trouble with Disney and lead to the other variety. According to Dan's checklist, at least a couple of numbers depict different stars (i.e. #24, 36)

I agree with Chris on this set, the cards I've seen have either come from Canada or Asia, I think I've seen them for sale from Hong Kong. There is also a Green Back set of these cards too.
