2 of the 3 cards missing in my set. I paid DOUBLE what I feel they're worth @ retail - but ya gots to pull the trigger every once in a while. Makes ya humble. The last few cards I need in a set always cost me a LOT more than the others.... imagine that!
special thanks to Gary S.

N181 Kimball
Couple of S90 City Silks
Dozen S17 Medals Silks
These MAY be E269 Stollwerck Chocolates. Right size but these have Germany on the back of them. Would like to see the ones in the Burdick Collection if they exist........
E203 Wallace & Company Strip of 3 cards. Odd subject matter. I have another strip of 3 that are admirals from the SpanAm war and these three appear to be unnamed children. Have seen a strip of named Actresses as well. Also available in a cream color strip with 3/4 subjects.

Not here yet, but purchased the 100th card for my set of Hassan/Mecca Auto Drivers. I can now confirm that all 25 fronts were printed with all 4 different backs (Hassan/Mecca/factory 30/factory 649). Have been working on the set with variations for almost 40 years!

Not much to look at, but this dinged #931 of Nightmare of Warfare finishes my set which I have been chasing forever.
Oh, that reminds me, if any faithful Forum member has an inside scoop or any peripheral knowledge about W.S. Corp's 1942
America at War, maybe post something. I am trying to cobble together an article. Thanx.

I collect boxing issues and the E78 issue is one of my favorites so was excited to pick this card up. Its an E78 front of boxer Willie Lewis with the miscut reverse of the E8 Battleships issue.

Anybody know anthing about this? Roosevelt is the last President pictured and it mentions his re-election in 1936 as the last line. Guessing perhaps 1936-1940 issue date? Jim do you know? I couldn't find this listed in the NSB. Could it possibly be F377 (just a different distributor - and there are only 32 cards not 33)?

I have the same set without the advertising. Not sure if 32 or 33. There was a set of reds cards called Harry Hartmann from Cincinnati and my money is on them being issued by the same company.
I watched ATR from London and a Gentleman came in with 20,000 of these cards. I was interested, then curious when I looked into them. When I received my first batch I was hooked. I've just begun what will be a long journey with these cards and picked up my first 260 this month. Wish me luck in collecting all 6000 variations.
In Rememberance of James W. Brennan Sr. 1924-1982. Dad, thanks for everything you did for me.

I just have this one; I collect Topps types from 48-80 and not full sets. It is a tough set but a good time to buy such cards. There a half dozen or so on Ebay last month.

. . . for getting what looks to be a VERY nice specimen of the single scarcest card in the Goudey Skybirds set, the Wehner #25 Series of 144 card. (Recommend Forum members scroll up and have a look, as this is rarely seen.)
But most collectors will be unaware that they've never seen the card! This is because the Wehner #25/144 is probably the most disrespected card in 1930s nonsports. Nobody ever seems to know how tough this card is until they start trying to get one. (Ask Rand.)
Almost always, this will be the final card found in creating a 132-card Skybirds 'master set' (the usual 108 plus another 24 cards, #25 thru 48 in the alternate Series of 144 back version).
Wehner #25 was the first Skybird card to get the back designation 'Series of 144'. Not sure exactly why it is so much more difficult than all the others in the run of #25-#48 (when the transition from Series of 48 began and only SOME cards with backs saying Series of 144 were issued), but it truly is.
In terms of difficulty, cards #25 thru #35 in Series of 144 are far tougher than the second half of that subset, #36-48 in 144. And #25 is the toughest of the tough!

because they are so infrequently encountered - but I'd say 3 to 1 OJ to GQ. There are also subsets with back variations. Jay M. might be interested in dem I have but one type left. Nice find (along with the Pet piece) Rhett..........

Hi Alan , I've a batch of Cops/Robbers , some HOW's and my Ripleys Believe it or Not boxed up and waiting to go to PSA .
I recently re-joined PSA as i couldn't see a similar grading company who can match PSA prices when cards are sold on after grading .
Thanks for your kind words .

i hope PSA prices (since there is no equal) hold on tight when things change around in a year or so. personally i think the cards look awful in those cheapy holders. SGC's registry is wide open and i have seen many PSA folks building and adding sets all the time.
