That is a great move and, frankly, a very important one for our hobby . . . very happy to see you capturing images from that great, once-in-a-lifetime REA wax 'find'. Hope you'll also be grabbing all the OTHER great REA non-sports images -- the Skybirds boxes and packs, that astounding Frank Buck box and packs, the Tattoo Orbit material, etc etc etc.
This way, all those amazing pictures and their information won't be lost to us or to future collectors, whether all that archived auction info remains on REA's website or not . . .
A real goldmine for our virtual collection at the N54 Gallery of vintage non-sport card images. Go get em! (And thanks again; we are all stunned -- and delighted -- by your energy level, focus and dedication to this project.)

My biggest problem is motivation.
-----------
Winners rarely will send scanner images after receiving their "wins".
Other winners prefer not to give out the info they are "winners".
------------
Having just the REA images should be ok for any mortal, but for some
reason "motivation" doesn't kick in. I need more. It's like going
to a Chines Buffet. You have more than you need, but you still ask
"where's the lobster".
Don Hayes' sharing of R196 made me want to create that webpage.
Now that it's finished, adding REA info is mandatory (coming this week)

I may not be able to keep up with a lot of you on this board, but as I get older I can occasionally collect a few things that I never dreamed that I could before. I won these two First Column Defenders packs and can't believe that I have unopened material from 1940 in my collection. I wish now that I had bitten harder on the complete set from the Legendary auction; they would have gone great together.

You made me laugh Richard. But you also made me pull my cards out and see if could see why you thought the card was #22, and that long gun barrel does seem to make it obvious. Nice one. Care to guess what the other pack holds?
Great pickup Daniel. I bid on these early but didn't rebid.

Daniel---thanks for showing those FCD packs---awesome stuff! I think the pencil note of 10-10-40 adds a lot to the appeal of those old time treasures---thought you might enjoy seeing the Cuban Sweets version of PPBG----I often wonder if those foreign issues had the same short distribution of the 3 tough #'s---guess I'll never know for sure, but I suspect probably not---the 2 cards I have from this series have the same numbers as their US counterparts--

one interesting thing is the shape of the gum in the intact packs---it's more like a bar rather than a slab---not sure if time has altered the appearance of the gum though--the packs don't actually lie flat on the gum side, since the gum produces a pronounced bulge--
