EBay Problem

I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems paying for items on EBay at the moment?

I've been having problems for about 10 days now. I've talked to EBay on the phone three times, but they don't seem to be able to resolve my problem. They can recreate my problem as we are on the phone, but they still can't fix it.

Basically, I can't pay through My EBay anymore. I get a message that reads "You've hit a speed bump, try again later." Not that it matters, but talk about your stupid messages. I can go to PayPal and pay for an item directly. But there are problems there too because I can only pay for one item at a time. The whole invoice comes up showing all the items, but if I try to pay for the whole invoice, I can't. If I delete all the items but one, then it lets me pay. Talk about ridiculous.

I've tried both payment methods using Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer on two different computers, and I get the same results each time. I've reset my password, deleted the links between EBay and PayPal and reinstated them, etc. Nothing works. It's almost like they want to lose me as a customer.

On the phone, I've asked to talk to a supervisor and been told there isn't one, and there isn't anyone else higher up I can talk to. According to them, the issue has been "escalated", whatever that means?

Just one more reminder how important customer service can be. I'm an incredibly loyal consumer. A company that provides me with good customer service as well as a good product wins my business and keeps it for a long time. Which is why I wish there was an alternative to EBay, because I hate using such a crappy company. Heck, maybe I should start a new site for cards myself.

Rant over,
Alan

Alan, sorry to hear about your eBay woes.

I had a little glitch with them for about a day, when paying via My eBay didn't seem to work. But I was able to directly pay via Paypal although it was more costly -- couldn't access get group mail break since I had to pay for the seller's lots, individually. (But rather than make that seller wait and hear what he'd think were MY excuses, I just took the lumps and paid the extra $15 or whatever.)

But no eBay problems right now.

Have you emptied out your computer caches, deleted history, cookies, etc?

Know what you mean about dealing with poor customer service -- and in the case of eBay, simply being able to speak to a PERSON seems a big leap forward. In the past, the best I could get was live texting . . .

Hope this gets resolved for you soon!

Thanks Ralph. I agree that talking to a person is a huge improvement over IMing or texting. But it's still not close to enough if the only person you can reach can't help you. I always give companies like L.L. Bean and Lands End as examples of great customer service. No matter who you get on the phone, that person will do everything possible to resolve your problem and make you feel like they care about your business. I feel the same way about my local Honda dealer and every Apple dealer too.

Tried all the simple stuff like clearing my cache and history plus quite a few other things. Unfortunately, it seems to be something a little more complicated.

brother can you spare a dime?

The "Machine" has been out of control for sometime.

I have had a listing removed 2 times for using the word "not cheap not a copy" in the title. Meanwhile all around my listing in that catagory sellers are using brand name in title, then in their text tell you it is made by another company. Ebay tends to favor theives and deadbeats - scam artist yet they can't help you or me a loyal customer! Jeez!

They told me this search and browse manipulation?
Went on to tell me that I can't compare my item to a brand name or celebrity, and I could loose my "good standing"!

Since when is "cheap" & " copy" a brand name or celebrity?

BA ha!you have to laugh or you will cry.

Alan, I can't believe you waste your time on the phone with such folk...or is that automatons from THX 1138? "yes, I understand...go on...buy more...sell more.."

Do you know the way to San Jose?

Yes. There are other listings that are going by unreported. However, they did not include the word "not" in the title. They will remain, unless reported to eBay.

Your problem is that the bots on eBay caught the word "not" in your title, and automatically rejected your listing.

Hello to All ,

I just pumped ' not ' into the e-bay search engine and it came up with 37,229 results found for not [ Save this searchSaved toMy eBay. ].

Perhaps theres something else that is causing your problem Charley .

VINDICATED!

Hi Tosh, Thanks for your response. I Understand what you are saying. But

what is really troubling is that my item was pulled AGAIN..for using
"Not
Cheap or Copy" in the title!!??!!

I think you would agree the machine is a little out of control at this
point.

I Wonder how many millions of item are sold on ebay with the words
"cheap"
in the heading or "not a copy" (read : Reproduction)?

Ultimately, its EBAY sandbox and we are just playing in it. But as a
power
seller with 100% feedback who has been defrauded by paypal on this end
and
on the buying end and STILL list and pay fees every month...You do find yourself asking questions ya know?

Anyway, Thanks for your kind reply. I know you are just working for the man ,like the rest of us.
Keep your chin up.
Take care
Sincerely,
C.
