Thanks in advance, Mike

P234-5 of the Benjamin white book -- look like 30s but he says they are 50s due to some cards showing Korean War subjects. Checklist is 40 cards long and they call it "Airplane Series". No ACC number.

In Watson's NSB page # 39
It has it listed as Airplane Series
1950's - Anomymous
USA - 40 numbered strip cards, blank backs
Acc # R830-1

Benjamin book Non-Sports Cards 1930-1960 (yellow cover) p15

Airplane Series (40) 2" x 3"

"Ken Bush recently discovered a card with a tab attached which, if nothing else, provides the name of the set. The cards come with contiguous rouletted edges, indicating that they were marketed in sheets rather than in strips. The manufacturer is unknown, but card number 18, which refers to 1941, establishes the date of issue."

Now my ACC stop at R808 anybody knows if there is an update available?

Thanks, Claude.

The white Benjamin, coming later than the orange, corrected that 1941 date as some cards in the set were found which cited 1950s events (Korean War).

( Of course, it may ACTUALLY have been from that rare 1940s issue, 'Clairvoyant War News Pictures'.  Also has a Desert Storm card, Vietnam, Iraq . . . )

Hi all; your responses are much appreciated.

I am assuming that the following response is the correct one?

In Watson's NSB page # 39
It has it listed as Airplane Series
1950's - Anomymous
USA - 40 numbered strip cards, blank backs
Acc # R830-1

I have 20 different so I guess that is half of the set. Does anyone have a ballaprk idea for value or does the book state a price?

Thanks in advance, Mike

Mostly correct except for this

"USA - 40 numbered strip cards, blank backs"

If you look at the roulette edge they were at least distributed in panel form if not page.

Hi Mike,

I had 20 or 30 of these cards a couple of years. They were in approximately the same condition as the one you have pictured. I think they sold for about $2 or $3 each.

Best,
Alan
