Picked up one more for my R73 master (ha) set, one of my favorite white series chiefs. And also my final Sky Bird, #108, which I'll post when it arrives.

E1 Breisch Williams, E4 Nations Pride, E226 Lowney Birds and quite a few tobacco. Can't see all the pages, so hopefully something to surprise...........

Picked up both Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the "Australian and New Zealand Index". Reference material on non-USA and British issues is fairly difficult to acquire if one reside in the USA.

my thought exactly about the Sub Rosa president as my eyes gravitated there as well. TOUGH series.......... With all TR's pickups each month - no wonder there's not much left for the common folk. Those trick riders look pretty clean too.

TR is the Muhammad Ali of picking stuff up at 'flea markets'. Undisputed heavyweight champion. Interesting with those paper dolls. Burdick has a separate section of the ACC for paper dolls yet he includes some in the actual E classifications. His methodology was interesting to say the least. I have a couple of those Stollwerck Chocolates dolls and some from Happy Family Candy (precursor to Cracker Jacks) and from Kis-Me Gum (Colgan precursor). The Kis-Me ones are cataloged under E's but the other two aren't. Hadn't seen those Zeno Gum ones. Nice stuff. My wife gave me a wary eye when I showed her the Kis-Me gum paper dolls I bought off ebay a while back. I didn't ask her to elaborate on what she was thinking.

kis-me gum stuff sells very high compared to contemporaries. Someone made a sweet pick-up with the canadian gum pillowtop. I was in the hunt and if it was in my wheelhouse - I wudda gone higher - GOTTA be quite rare. Anyone?

"Oh, just a little random group of Sea Raiders cards. Just fell into my mailbox . . ." sez Rand.
Rand, you get five stars here, almost as coy as Todd when he shows us "a few pickups" from his "flea market" runs!
Seriously, tho, those SR cards are just terrific. Condition of some are maybe kinda rough but quite a few are nice, too . . . and with an issue as difficult as this one, really, who cares too much about condition anyway? I agree with the terms of your current pursuit: ANY Sea Raiders cards, ANY condition. Upgrade and get picky later . . .
There is just something about the color scheme and artwork on this set that is SPECIAL. They tend to really look especially great in groups. Is it the predominance of the blue and yellow? I dunno but I like it.

this is the only set, so far, that condition is not a collecting factor for me. the color scheme of the cards are beautiful and the better the condition, the more the colors pop. i have my work cut out for me on the high numbers, but the feeling of getting them one by one is very rewarding. i have to thank you for getting me off to a great start.

Todd, the M-G-M set of Movie Stars had a very small find (10 - 20 sets)about three to four years ago and can sometimes be found in full sets - like yours. Hope you got them at a decent price and you didn't overpay like I did.

Bill,
I got them very reasonable. They are all like new and am quite happy with them. I was selling at the show and used money I made to buy the set so I look at it as a trade!

i added this card to my "type" collection. not only (imo) is it a beauty, but the reverse is equally as nice as the front and interesting. its also a # 1 card in the series.
