In putting together a master set of Kimball Champions - I am apparently missing one card that has the advertising half-moon on the front. 25 cards had it (one sheet). Following is the list I have of cards without the advertising only One of them IS found WITH the advertising. Can anyone help identify which one from my list? (my GUESS is that it's Cardiff - a boxer). TY in advance for the help.

many thanks. far as I know - none of the 25 left on my list have the ad. Interesting now to opine on how it all came about. Why are there 25 cards that were issued with the advertising on front? They were also issued without it. I would guess there were 25 cards on a production stone/sheet and there are 50 cards in the set. It would make sense that all the ones with advertising would be on the same sheet (or not?). What happened? Accident, oversight, damage, or sumptin else? As usual - most examinations of a set or production circumstances - especially in 19th century cards - begins and ends with a question..... This is one of my favorite sets. I have already started to compile a "short biography" of each subject (feel free to email me details about obscure members of the set if you want to share/help). I would like to complete the "package" with all the ancillary information I can gather relative to it's production and distribution. I plan the same thing for my other few sets featuring people............ I'd be happy to hear from others - most of you have shown you like a mystery.
