I need some advice: I have found a complete set of the rare 1968 Spanish version of Topps Civil War News. The cards are ungraded, but the set looks ex+M- at least in the 95% of the set. What would it be the premium comparing this set against the most usual 1962 Topps set?. I'm asking this because I live in Spain and here we have no market for that kind of stuff to be compared

You virtually never see the Spanish set being sold, and only rarely do you even see the French version.
Complicating this, I suspect, will be that market demand for these will inevitably be a little thin (since many or most CWN collectors are probably unaware that Spanish and French versions of this set exist; and those who DO know may not be interested in a foreign set).
My personal opinion is that the Spanish set should be worth, at a minimum, at least as much as the USA set, in comparable condition; and toward the high end, as much as, say, three to five times the USA set in comparable condition.
Why not just put it onto eBay, properly listed, and let the market decide?

The last French CWN i saw up for off e-bay auction had a reserve of £1000/$1500(approx) and didn't sell .
I think the French one that was listed on e-bay sold for £700/$1050 (approx).

I don't want to put it on eBay. I have some people interested but I'd like before to know some reference price. Both answers are very useful. The Bob Heffner page is very interesting in order to be aware of the rarity and scarcity of this item but does not talk about prices. If somebody else have some hint it will be welcomed.

The fact is that I'm waiting for a lot of cards and bills and still don't know if I'll get a complete bill's set. Anyway, the info is very useful for me. Te set is rare and I guess I could get a good price for it with all your help that I thank a lot

Cisco , It's my understanding that a lot of the popularity of this set originates from who the artist was ,of course historical references relevant to the USA are also a major factor but the Norm Saunders art work was a major factor in me collecting the set .
The problemwith the Spanish version of the set is a lot of the cards were re-drawn and differ a hell of a lot from the originals , leaving out vast amounts of detail and quality .
Images pinched fromBobs site for comparison purposes only
This might have an impact on the price your expecting for the set ,it should still sell well but to a limited crowd .
Good Luck .

Mark, you're right about the changes in the images. To me that's the biggest appeal to this set. Was Norm Sounders who re-drawn the cards? I don't know. Bob seems not to be aware or not if that happened. At least I can't read nothing about in his site. To me it's clear that this set goes to some completist of the set. If somebody could be interested I guess that would be the profile. As they are ungraded cards, the potential of the set is incredible, because you can get an ungraded set for a"low" price and meke it really big if you grade the cards. Don't you?
