There's an auction right now on eBay, seems a pretty top drawer item. Seller claims it was purchased by current owner from Mastro's for %10k, some time back.
Anyway, leaving the lot's contents anonymous so as to not 'out' a really interesting item, here is the current bidder list. Have a look. Does anything look funny about it to you guys, or am I seeing shill shadows here:

No way bidders should be able to really go after this, at a big ticket price, on the sparse detail provided.
Which is one of the reasons I started looking at the bidder list.
The lot is moving up fast, elevating on very little detail.
Suspicious.
So, with a suspicious frame of mind, looking at the bidder list I think I see at least one shill (the consignor?), tho could even be two if auctioneer also controls a shilling account.
Ain't sayin', I'm just sayin' . . .

this auction ended with no bidders at a $13,000 BIN or best offer and has been relisted with a low starting bid no reserve. we have seen 2 complete sets sell for $4200 & $5600 from a different seller (same seller for both sets) within the last 2 months. this set is much nicer, so until the bids get over $4200 i wouldn't worry at all about a shill.

Definitely shilled. This bidder wins or bids on the high-priced lots with this seller. Just in the last few days he bid on 1) Arod signed bat, 2) 1956 Topps PSA 9 common, 3) 1913 Cleveland team photo, 4) 1887 N2 Indian Chiefs, 5) T206 photos, 6) 1927 Yankee die-cuts. Not very similar items. Plus, while everyone gets feedback within a day, this bidder gets none.
There seem to be other accounts used for shilling too. But he's a high-volume seller that Ebay will ignore. At least until someone finally files a class-action suit on Ebay or on the sellers.

the winner bid alot of times in this auction. usually when a high ticket , important item is on ebay bidders like to snipe and not show there interest till the end.
