Favorite "R-1930s and 1940s" issue thread

Why not go to the Gallery, find your favorite "R" issue
from the 1930 through 1944,
be it cards, ads, signs, etc and post the link in this thread.

I know choosing one will be difficult, as those years found gum
companies to be so competitive.

I have to choose this one, since it was a very thoughtful issue
and I know I will never complete my set.

Favorite R 1930's issue

It is so tough to pick only one, I love the R76 In History Spotlight but have to go for the R73's. The Indian Gum cards are subtle and spectacular.

Not even close for me: E282 Oh Boy Gum Cards (yes, an E designation but really an R card by Goudey).

So many good ones and in my mind Strange True Stories just beats out Tootsie Circus for number one. For me, STS has just the right mix of cool pictures, fascinating text on the backs and scarcity to make it my top choice.

strange true stories is my favorite and my most frustrating set. need 5 cards to finish it and have a couple of doubles to trade
sea raiders is a close 2nd choice
