Saw an ad for these in an early 50's Daredevil(not Marvel) comic. I tried finding pics on this site, but no luck. there were five sets of three cards, all characters from Gleason's comics. Intersting comic titles: Crime does not Pay, Boy, Crime and Punishment, Daredevil, and Black Diamond. Each set was available for two cut-out coupons from those comics and 10c. Do any of you guys have these and any pics?

The title caught my interest, as I am very familiar with the publisher and those comic titles, but wasn't aware there were cards issued by them. Do you have a scan of the ad, or can you at least let me know what issue number it was that you saw it in? I don't think I have any of the golden age Daredevil issues currently, but may be able to locate scans if you don't have a hard copy to get one from.

Just found the original ad for these cards. This two page spread is from
BOY comic number 70, Oct. 1951.
I cropped the pages to show larger scans of the cards.

I think there are actually 2 different sets of these cards. One has the coupon on the bottom and the other one does not. I have some of each set and twelve of the cards are the same in each set and the other three are completely different cards. Also some of the colors are different on some of the cards (green hat, brown hat, blue sky, yellow sky, etc.) and the words are in different places on the two sets. I would be glad to send some pictures, but don't know how.

I did notice some color differences. If you compare the cards that I have to the pictures in the ad you will see some differences. Some times what is shown in the ads is a little different from the actual item, so I was not sure what to make of it. I have never seen any other Lev Gleason cards.
I would like to see scans of your cards. Directions for uploading pictures have been posted on the chat board page, you can do a search to find them.

Another thing I forgot to mention, the cards without the coupon have gray backs, red writing on the backs and are made on thicker paper. The cards with the coupon have white backs, black writing on the backs and are made on thinner paper. Rocky X, Simpy Smith and The Vacuum I have only seen in the no coupon series and Chop Gardner, Daredevil and Curly only in the coupon series. I am looking for some of the cards I'm missing or are in better condition than mine, so please let me know if you know anyone who has any for sale or trade.

I recently unearthed a complete set of the redemption cards at a local store (/w a few duplicates). I was looking at how to go about selling these because of the extreme rarity of the items. Feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] with any information. I greatly appreciate the feedback of everyone.
Ps- The condition of the cards are in varying degrees and all of the redemption stubs are intact. I currently possess all 15 with 2 minor character duplicates. Thanks again!

Thank you to everyone who responded to my previous post. I decided that it was best to list the set on eBay individually due to the scarcity of this item. All interested parties can view the auctions and scans of the complete set under seller:gamesintheattic2326. Have a great day everyone.
