Here goes nothing...

Just picked up a couple 33 Sea Raiders high number cards in PSA 4 on eBay this afternoon. Paid a pretty steep price to start the set, but these seem to come up seldom at best without creases all over and paper loss (especially the high numbers) and I've been pining to get a new project going. Have a #1 card raw that should grade out a 4 or 5 too. Can anyone give me any insight on why this issue is so darn tough? Thanks!

There might be some insights into the scarcity of the high numbers in some of the old threads on this site (which you can find using the search function). High series often seem tougher as companies lowered production when kid's interest in the cards waned. In this case, the scarcity must have something to do with the low numbers having been produced in both Boston and Montreal while the high numbers were only produced in Montreal. Personally, I always agreed with Burdick and considered the high numbers a Canadian set.

You forgot to mention that 99% of the reason you agree with Burdick is because they are so darn difficult.
