I thought the prices were fair for the most part. I was going after the N519 pretty hard then I backed off to add these.
Good question why does the Ratz crackers go for so much is it really all that tough seems like lots fo folks I know have them perhaps not PSA 9 but EXMT to NMMT....

First off, John congrats on those...a thing of scarce beauty. We now have baseball collectors creeping into non-sport Just kidding.
My pal Charley,
1) Marquis...this card never did much for me but ended about where I thought
2) Cowboy card...ended slightly higher than I envisioned but best @6 where Jerry's
former 2.5 is the second best...congrats to the winner
3) Ratz...kinda tough and high grade but 5 graded @8..crazy money but those Wacky heads are dedicated
4) McKinley...not shocked...they sold this set (other cards were raw) back in 2003 and sold for 41K almost 10 years ago...so over 10k cheaper now
5) A 1976 Topps Star Trek PSA10 for 1K w/o juice...no comment
Here's a poll...what would you rather have:
A) Ratz PSA9 or
B)Cowboy card PSA6 and $3500

Funny thing is I have way more non-sports than I have baseball. I have about 10-1 non-sports over baseball. I guess I just dont post as much on my non-sports and should.
Cheers,
John
P.S. Cowboy card all day long over the Ratz.

John,
Never knew that...I keep an eye on the baseball side and have gathered you have a great collection there. Would love you to post your non-sport highlights here. And I'm sure others on this board would like that too!

I'm with John , Cowboy card , I've a box of similar crackers in the cupboard but I haven't anything close to the Cowboy card .
I'm with Richard , please post your NS stuff John .

I take actual rarity over condition rarity every day: I'd rather have a card with only a few known specimens in any grade than a PSA 10 of a card that has 500 graded copies at various other levels.

BTW , two of those banners you won originated from my wall but the you didn't win the Gymnastic banner as that came from my collection as well. Enjoy them.

so many banners John I couldn't figure out who would bid so much against me on the gloved hands banner. My usual position as bride's maid. Congrat! Knew I would be outbid on the indian banner which really was supposed to be mine long ago...... Scott - good job on the Goodwins - handsome set. I never can put a set to bed these days. Always a couple of stragglers.

Thanks Guys. Scott very cool always love to know who and where these things came from.
Henry sorry for running you up and over.
I too wanted the "Editors" Pet and A&G poster ran as long as I could then ended up under bidder. Scott I also was under bidder on the gymnastics banner I miseed that one too. Can't get them all in the end but was happy with the ones I did get.
Cheers,
John

I feel the same way i'm refreshing this screen the total changes I'm now digging thru to see which one I'm losing...LOL way to much going on. Like wise on the Editors we both know where too find each other and I'm getting too old also.
Cheers,
John

I now have both of you where I want you I may have a few banners - always willing to trade away or sell - and I'm older than dirt. I suppose I'll never get that damned indian banner which was the first and is the last on my short list - but as long as I never give up I'll live forever.........

Where they began:
The Horses began in New Orleans as well as the Gymnastics banner..... before they landed in NJ and then on to California.
Henry knows where the Indian banner originated as his response was laid out to perfection with a pot shot aimed directly at my scro----. At some point the hatchet needs to get buried and I don't mean in my head.

R61 Government Agents Vs. Public Enemies PSA Set (very high grade)
Rails & Sails #111 PSA 8

that's worthy of that response here. I still think of us as friends and I was making a simple statement without a story - as it was between us. I actually owned an indian banner early in my collecting career that I bought along with 2 other banners. The indian banner was selling for so much at a time when even a 200.00 purchase was a HUGE amount (no, it didn't cost 200.00) so I consigned it to Robert Edwards. One of my weakest collecting decisions! The other thing has always been between us - **** happens.......

on prices high and low. Don't think I'll comment as it invariably pizzes someone off. I "won" (love that term) 6 albums to reduce my want list to 30 sumptin. Shameless plug for the ONE album I REALLY want - Hall's Gallery 1 or 2.....

I was surprised about some of the prices -- which I thought were for the most part reasonably low. I won 10 lots -- 8 non sports and 2 sports. Even with the extra %, I would have paid more on ebay in their auctions.
I wanted the Wild West 25, but it got too rich for me. I dropped out after $5XXX.
I got most if not all of the science fiction cards, and I completed another set that had been on my list for 30 years. That means that other collectors will benefit -- as my dups will eventually make their way to my booth at the National later in July/August.
Some of the items were clearly from one very advanced collector who is slowly liquidating. What will he let go of next?
I should have also bought the Dinkeys as they are super tought to find with tabs. Such is life.
