Tough cards

Hi Frank,

You acquired some tough cards in high grade there. The #49A in particular, those high-40's Crockett Greenbacks are murder. That's the only pSA-9 in the 40's, I believe.

Best in collecting,

Bill Bengen

Some nice high end stuff fellas!

I bagged a large flock of T42/T43 birds (280!), some tough backs among them and some additional misc. T cards.

You got a great deal on those cards Cliff. I was going to bid about 50% more than you got them for but got called out of town and missed bidding.

Picked this up just last night. Premium for B70. 20" x 20" and on coarse cloth, just like the rugs.

not sure where I would weigh in on the premium B70 thing. Rather vague mention by Burdick of "pennant" "college and fraternal" premiums issued in many manners. Also couple images I've never seen on the felts themselves. Perhaps Bob will offer a guess (if he still comes around)...........

nice stuff - you're correct about the Arbuckle cards - they're well done, available, many topics, and not expensive - everything a collector could ask for except perhaps rarity/demand issues.........

December Pick-Ups

December 9 2013, 10:45 PM

The R122 Screen Snappies are my first. When I get cards from a set I know little or nothing about, I go to this site for info. In this case, when I looked up my cards, three of the four are the exact cards shown in the Gallery. I don't know why, but this always freaks me out. Somehow cards shown in the Gallery seem so unattainable and they take on a certain celebrity.

The Popeye wrapper and card are from England and I know nothing about them either. Anybody know when they came out? -Jack J.

Greg,

I like the Sealtest tabs. I only have 4 or 5 of them. Here is some information
on them that you may not have.
You show two that are not shown in the ad so there are at least 14 in the set.

MORE T CARDS!

No score for this post
December 12 2013, 7:45 PM

Hey All! scored more T cards this month. Unusual for me some of the T79 Military cards are NM condition! I may have to get a couple graded. They are all wearing the tougher Tolstoi back.

My favorite pickup - check out the T79 with the upside down and miscut back!

I am down to NEED ONE CARD for the T79's. I am looking for #66 Roumania - General if anyone has one?

Picked up a couple of rugs which I dont know much about.

also crossed off a couple more T58's from the tough factory 25 version. BTW - Thanks Sam! happy.gif

Uncle Sam hi grade cards off EBay

No score for this post
December 14 2013, 12:59 PM

Hi Mark,

Great card. I assume this is the PSA 9 that was for sale on EBay for $999 a week ago. Did you take it out of the holder or are you just shy about showing it in the holder?

I know you bought the only two cards from that lot that sold, the two PSA 8s for $299 each. Care to share what you paid for this PSA 9? Did you buy all the rest of the cards that didn't sell on EBay?

Thanks,
Alan
