A few recent cards I am happy to add included are the two N53 Statue of Liberty variations and I slipped in one from the N162 Champions set.

Congrats on getting it; hadn't seen them before and didn't know how high the price would rise, but good get. They're very attractive.

topsy, caruthers, cupids - one hell of a "row".
Neat silk Ron. If you had called/written I would have come over one day for lunch! Or at least to pick some shells. Next year perhaps? I'll be moving into my first house a little south of where I am now. Much bigger place but little room for all my stuff. Paper easy to have - banners and such not so much.

Great pick ups by both of you. Statue of Liberty card is a classic in American History, I'm sure most
anyone would want that in their collection. Ron super as usual, the watch cards are great & both places
were on Wall St. Great American History from both of you!

blotter?

Hi Ron - You Keep posting & I keep learning. How sweet it is! I have a blotter on my desk, but with the cards
you refer to as blotters I'm lost. Could you please explain why these are called blotters? Thank you. tm

Blotters...

were cardboard sheets that were used to blot excess ink off of fountain pens. Now that we have ball-points, they're unnecessary.

Tell you what, Daniel... I normally wouldn't do this, but I'm going to take the hit and offer you $12 for it. I may be overpaying, but I'd hate to see you walk away without doubling your money....

Seriously, that is a great score! Wish I'd had that kind of luck with the Powerball a couple days ago.

At any rate, here's what I've picked up so far this month. Paid more than $6 for almost all of it!

This is an unused cardboard overlay that would have been stapled to bulk cellophane bags of Williamson "What's This?" candy boxes, perfect for parties or, in this case, Halloween!

I noticed the backs of the cards you represented. The place is Yankton, D. T.

Yankton is now Yankton, South Dakota. Previously it was Yankton, Dakota Territory. The Dakota Territory is now North Dakota and South Dakota. They became states on November 2, 1889.

So I presume your cards predate 1889.

Greetings, enjoyable cards and items, as always. I really like the Schmoos - very cool. Since I am a part time and low budget collector I have not found too many non sports cards type items lately, here are a few. Thanks.

and a Tobacco pinback and also a Bond Bread pinback with Arctic Aviator Floyd Bennett. I always enjoy items from Arctic and Antarctic exploration.

Picked up these four in a trade with Moderator Tom. I'm now at 239/240 needing only #227 Greece Aircraft Insignia to complete the set. I have many extras and will trade heavily in your favor or pay if anyone has a #227.
