A few from me so far this month.

photo IMG_1326_zpsdlvysajj.jpg
A handful from the Philly Show that I forgot to post last month.

photo IMG_1418_zpscm2qhafe.jpg
I accidentally put some of these away before remembering to photograph them. Thanks to JT for these and those in the couple photos that follow.

I picked this lot of 110 cards up from a Canadian sports card dealer. I'm a little torn... on the one hand, I got some fun Canadian types that I didn't already had (and in some cases had never head of); on the other, when I received them, almost all the cards were beat to heck and back, and at roughly 40 cents apiece, I probably overpaid for them.

Finally, this came in the mail today and instantly became one of the jewels in my Topps collection. Interestingly, the wrapper doesn't seem like it was ever sealed.

Overpaid for this lot of 260 actresses from Heritage mainly for the Thomas Jefferson card but got some uncataloged N's and some really tough Our Little Beauties and Opera Puffs along with nice Bernhardt and Russells.......

[linked image]

Missed out on the N210-N213's in REA and bought near sets off ebay from the winner for reasonable amounts.
Gets me way closer to a complete sets of N210-N214. N215 is another animal..........

Some great pickups this month guys. I'll try to keep the momentum going here.

Super excited about this pretty clean complete R91 Minute Biographies set; tiny biographies indeed.
[linked image]

[linked image]

The top IGs are all of series of 24; can you guess which card is #2? A couple of Cops and Robbers, two Tarzan (One thanks to a board member; getting close on Tarzan), one IG series of 312 scenes, eight Lone Rangers and one Battle Ship Gum.
[linked image]

Thanks to Tom for the foreign Indiana cards; my first from this series! I typically shy away from foreign cards but the look of these fit right into what draws me in. Also a nice True Spy Stories #1 upgrade.
[linked image]

One subsection of my collection that I really enjoy is reference material. I picked up this group of three wrapper books as a group and am happy to add them to the library.

Well, Tom and Daniel may have gotten a ton of great cards, but I didn't see any of these babies in their haul. Here's a card from the D69-1 "Pretty Colored Pictures" set. I wasn't previously aware of these bread cards with their strange art and bazar characters. - Jack J.

The story behind the Monkey card was that it was stolen from the US Mail, and within a week put up for sale on eBay. My good friend Mark Finn, who I owe a debt of gratitude, help me locate the card in a Baltimore Pawn shop. I'm not sure how Mr. Finn did it, but he personally retrieved my card from the owner (a neat, charming & honest guy named Nik). So, a public thank you to Mark, personally from me. Stolen items from the mail seldom find their way back home.

I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan. The Good, the Bad and The Ugly is one of my fave films. Not vintage, but it's Clint Eastwood.

And seeing a Bat Man card on the November pick-ups is a hoot. Welcome to the Club, Mark Schwartz. My Bat Man wasn't cheap, but I did get to take my model, Natalie, to lunch. It would have been a real hoot had The Bat Man come up for sale on eBay...but for less than $150, I can't blame you for taking the initiative and obtaining a very rare and sought after card. It's a great card and one of my personal favorites, and I always love taking the opportunity to show her...

[linked image]

Mark, youre G-Man 437 is an Amazing card...and the true Mail Robbery story behind it is a great story.

allen mchenry houston texas

postscript...and after waiting a few months, Clint Eastwood responded to my letter....and this arrived this morning...

The Indiana Sport Avion set is interesting; I guess it makes sense to have plane cards in a set with flight in its name. Here is an example of the Babe Ruth card from the set:

If you can't find cards, how about some 1955 Walt Disney Lady and the Tramp figurines from Kellogg's?
[linked image]
(that was a lot of cereal if you only got 1 per box!)

Or how about some 1968 Sea Monsters from Nabisco?

Candy box says "Baseball Series" so I think it answered your question.

I don't know whether to count those boxes as sport or non-sport... but I know at the very least that they're not Christmas tags!
