Tamiya GB ---> Jagdpanther extravaganza (III): Rust.

Before applying the camo I wanted to try some rust effect with the hairspray technique.
The base paint is Tamiya Red Brown mixed with Tamiya Clear to get a satin finish. The dark mottling is splashed Tamiya black, just to get an irregular look:

After applying a layer of hairspray I airbrushed an overcoat with Lifecolor paint. I also painted some irregular spots with brush:

The Lifecolor paint is really nice to chip with the hairspray underlayer. Depending of the amount of water you use you can get different chipping effects. I also tried AK´s Light Rust wash:

It still needs some pigments and weathering to unify the look but first I´ll paint the camo.


I´m not an AFV expert, if you see something wrong... please shout it out!
