Hi
Here my IS2 diorama WIP.
The base in nearly finnished. Ground glass to be added to represent boken glass. I'm using ground up microscope slide slip covers. Also to be added some brass rod cut to smaal lengths to make empty fired cartridge cases. All to be glued on. I am trying ( on scrap card) various white gules to see which does not leave a shine, which some do ;-(. Any suggestions welcome.
Also added the photo to the rear of the building. Its on 'soviet red' card. The lighting has washed out the colour a bit. The photo is from a book. It was the very first photo I saw of the IS2 ( I was about 10 and I still have the book)and it made such an impression, I always wanted to build that scene.
The IS2 ( Hobby Master NOT Tamiya)is done apart from the intake mesh screens. I was about to have some etch brass brass one made for me. Then Tamiya released their kit, so I will wait for Hauler to bring out their set and use that. Save me money and time. Not quite up to the standards shown on here but it i enjoyed doing it. Tracks are done. I'm using Fruli KV tracks. They are very close and much better than the rubber band hobby master tracks.
