Any issues with the Tamiya JS-2?

Just picked one up in a trade and plan on working on the kit this weekend. Any problems to look out for? It looks to be a straightforward build, but being forewarned is forearmed.

BTW, any real reason to put the four metal weight rods inside other than to add some weight to the kit?
